Susana is an associate attorney for the civil litigation department. She focuses her practice primarily on landord/tenant disputes, construction litigation, labor and employment law, commercial litigation and appellate advocacy. Prior to joining Alvarez, Feltman, Da Silva & Costa, Susana worked for various local and national defense firms encompassing a broad spectrum of litigation matters. She represented carriers with coverage disputes and bad faith actions and automobile manufacturers in matters involving beach of express and implied warranties.
Susana gained valuable insight into the legal industry while serving as Juridical Intern to Judge James Lawrence King of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. In addition, as part of the ABA Judicial Intern Opportunity Program (JIOP) she interned for Judge Ellen Sue Venzer, of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court, Criminal Division.
Susana graduated from Florida International University in 2012 with a degree in Political Science and received her juris doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2015. During law school, Susana earned multiple Commendation Certificates for outstanding Pro Bono service and a Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) Excellence for the Future Award in Florida Criminal Procedure. During her final semester of law school, Susana successfully argued a State appeal before the Third District Court of Appeal. Susana served as Editor of the St. Thomas Law Review and Alumni Chair of the St. Thomas Moot Court Board.
